Basketball Recap: Marlow Comes Up Short

Marlow lost against Purcell last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Marlow Outlaws were beaten by the Purcell Dragons 85-44. While losing is never fun, the Outlaws can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Dragons are ranked 101st).

Marlow has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Purcell, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marlow will welcome Bridge Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marlow is facing Bridge Creek at the right time seeing as Bridge Creek is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Purcell, they will square off against Pauls Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pauls Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
