Baseball Game Preview: Mountlake Terrace Hawks vs. Meadowdale Mavericks

For the second straight game, Mountlake Terrace will face off against Meadowdale. The Hawks will host the Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mountlake Terrace barely beat Meadowdale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Mavericks on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Layton Rongholt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has become a key player for Mountlake Terrace: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 0-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Cian Harney was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Nolan Valdivia was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Mountlake Terrace's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Meadowdale, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
