Newton Falls got themselves on the board against Heartland Christian on Thursday, but Heartland Christian never followed suit. They blew past the Lions 11-0. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Leland Vargo was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
