Softball Recap: Northwest's Run of Eight Straight Victories Now Over

Northwest blew Waverly out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Waverly got their revenge. The Mohawks fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-2. The Mohawks' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Mollyann Runyon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendra Bostwick, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Waverly, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-12 record.

Looking ahead, Northwest will take on Fairland at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mohawks are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on an 18-game losing streak. Waverly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
