Basketball Recap: Washington Wins Going Away Against Lovett

Lovett typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Washington proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Lovett Lions 47-29. The Bulldogs didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Despite the loss, Lovett saw an underclassman step up: freshman Molly Rees posted two points in addition to ten blocks and five boards. Those ten blocks gave Rees a new career-high.

Washington is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-14 record this season. As for Lovett, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will take on Hapeville Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington is facing Hapeville Charter at the right time seeing as Hapeville Charter is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lovett, they will face off against KIPP Atlanta Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
