Softball Recap: Yreka Takes a Loss

West Valley hit Yreka with a seven-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Miners lost 12-1 to the Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Miners in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Yreka's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for West Valley, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 23-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Yreka is set to face off against their familiar foe Central Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, West Valley will challenge rival Lassen at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.8, the Grizzlies 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
