Recap: Walton Warriors vs. Sidney Team
After a string of three wins, the Walton Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Sidney, falling 63-32. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Walton in their matchups with Sidney: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the defeat, Walton saw an underclassman step up: Kennedy Williams scored ten points along with two steals. Williams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
Walton's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Sidney, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walton will challenge Delaware Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Delaware Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Walton in New York (Delaware Academy is ranked 127th, while Walton is ranked 303rd). Sidney won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Horseheads at 7:45 p.m. on January 26th. Horseheads will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
