The Brunswick Blue Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Medina Battling Bees at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brunswick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
Brunswick is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since April 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Mentor by a score of 7-5. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Delainey Andolek was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, while Medina put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Shaker Heights. The Battling Bees were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Red Raiders. The victory continues a trend for the Battling Bees in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now won six in a row.
Bella Case was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Ryann Allar was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Katie Rubino was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Brunswick's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Medina, their record is now 8-6.
Brunswick beat Medina 13-8 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
