Basketball Recap: Foster Takes a Loss

Foster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Alief Hastings Bears. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 517th, while the Bears are ranked 217th).

Alief Hastings' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Favour Emeka, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Amyah Weathersby, who went 6 of 8 en route to 18 points and five rebounds.

Foster's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Alief Hastings, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing George Ranch the next time they take the court. Alief Hastings will head out to face George Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th, while Foster will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
