Basketball Game Preview: West Boca Raton Bulls vs. Santaluces Chiefs

The West Boca Raton Bulls are taking a road trip to face off against the Santaluces Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Boca Raton is looking for their season's first win.

West Boca Raton lost 69-45 to Olympic Heights on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Lions are ranked 112th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sophia Krefsky, who went 7 of 9 on her way to 21 points. That was a full 46.7% of West Boca Raton's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Morgan, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 14 points.

Meanwhile, Santaluces was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 30-29 to Wellington. The Chiefs haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

West Boca Raton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Santaluces, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

West Boca Raton came up short against Santaluces in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 26-20. Can West Boca Raton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
