Atwater had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 5-5  on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They won a  contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Los Banos Tigers 35-34. The  victory almost wasn't to be: the Falcons were down  21-7 in the second  quarter.

  Ali Banks Jr had another great game (as  he tends to do), throwing for 227 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 52 yards on only six carries. What's more,  he racked up 146.2  passer rating, the most he's  had since back in August. 100 of  Banks Jr's passing yards were hauled in by Sylas Austin, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.
As for Los Banos, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. They were up  21-7 in the second  quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.
 When it comes to explaining why Los Banos lost, don't look at  Gavin Blackwood - Estrada. Despite the final result, he threw for 195 yards and four  TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 74 yards and one  score on only five carries.  Jack Goodger also deserves some recognition as  he  hauled in his first  receiving touchdown of the season.
 Atwater and Los Banos are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Falcons will welcome Grace Davis  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Los Banos, they will head out on the road to  take on  Patterson  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Los Banos will be up against Patterson's rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.9  points per  matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
