Preview: Stockdale Mustangs vs. Independence Falcons
After two games on the road, Stockdale is heading back home. They will take on the Independence Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Wednesday, Stockdale came up short against Frontier and fell 52-43. While losing is never fun, Stockdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 570th, while Frontier is ranked 271st).
Meanwhile, even though Ridgeview scored an imposing 59 points on Wednesday, Independence still came out on top. Independence managed a 63-59 win over Ridgeview.
Stockdale's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Independence, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Stockdale against Independence in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 77-49 victory. Does Stockdale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Independence turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
