Basketball Recap: Gloria Deo Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Galena

Gloria Deo Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 60-42 bruising from the Galena Bears on Tuesday. If Gloria Deo Academy was looking for revenge after losing 70-61 to Galena when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Galena to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bobby Harris, who went 7-for-15 en route to 18 points and five boards. Jack Stephens was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds.

Galena's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gloria Deo Academy will take on Norwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Galena, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chadwick at 7:00 p.m. on December 5.
