Basketball Recap: Metro-East Lutheran Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Metro-East Lutheran was the 67-61 winner over Carlinville when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights fell 49-37 to the Cavaliers on Saturday.

Carlinville was led to victory by Triston Thompson and Tate Duckels. Thompson went 7-for-13 on his way to 20 points and four steals, while Duckels dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Those 20 points gave Thompson a new career-high. Sawyer Smith was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.

Metro-East Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Carlinville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Metro-East Lutheran is taking a road trip to face off against Maryville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carlinville, they will be home for the holidays to greet Carrollton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
