Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Leander couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles by a score of 9-8 on Saturday. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Kylee Arnold spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Rachel Grundei and Jalisa Rodriguez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Grundei went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Rodriguez went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Aliyah Allen was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Leander's defeat dropped their record down to 29-10. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, their record is now 30-5.
