Baseball Recap: Cowan Takes a Loss

Cowan was the 11-10 winner over Eastbrook when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Blackhawks fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 9-8 on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jaydon Auker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Cowan is 6-3 when Auker posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Jacob Unger also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Cowan has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Eastbrook, they pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Looking ahead, Cowan will head out to square off against South Adams at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Eastbrook, they will welcome Tipton at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
