Widefield extended their winning streak to 12 on Saturday, bumping them up to 21-2. They came out on top against the Rampart Rams by a score of 7-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gladiators also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.
Olivia McEwen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. McEwen was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Taylor Hall was incredible, going 1-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Madalyn Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Widefield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive games.
As for Rampart, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Rampart's side, Addison Jensen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. Jensen has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Rampart saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evie Wright, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
As of now, neither Widefield nor the Rams have any future games scheduled.
