Preview: Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans vs. Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans
The Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ridge Spring-Monetta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Ridge Spring-Monetta was able to grind out a solid victory over North, taking the game 53-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Ridge Spring-Monetta.
Ridge Spring-Monetta relied on the efforts of Jordyn Gilliam, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, and Taylah Leaphart, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Leaphart hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games.
Meanwhile, Hunter-Kinard-Tyler unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bethune-Bowman.
Ridge Spring-Monetta's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, they bumped their record down to 10-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Ridge Spring-Monetta was dealt a bruising 62-30 loss at the hands of Hunter-Kinard-Tyler when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Ridge Spring-Monetta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
