Basketball Game Preview: Oakes Tornadoes vs. Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock Lions

The Oakes Tornadoes will kick their season off against the Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock Lions on Saturday. Tip off is scheduled at 6:30 p.m.

After dropping their season opener at home, Oakes is headed out to face a Lions squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock took a blow against Westhope/Newburg on Friday, falling 82-51. The contest was a close 30-28 at the break, but unfortunately for the Lions it sure didn't stay that way.

Their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

As for Oakes, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the right side of .500 (13-11), and they're hoping to kick off an even more successful campaign this year.

Oakes came up short against Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 64-53. Can Oakes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
