Baseball Recap: El Capitan Gets the Win

El Capitan won the last time they faced Valhalla and things went their way on Friday too. The Vaqueros walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Norsemen. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vaqueros.

Landon Harbach was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was David Vera, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Harbach wasn't the only one making solid contact: El Capitan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Vaqueros are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got El Capitan back to even at 7-7. As for Valhalla, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Capitan will welcome Granite Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Vaqueros surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valhalla, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Grossmont at 4:00 p.m.
