Football Recap: Salamanca Piles Up the Points Against Griffith Institute

Salamanca won the last time they faced Griffith Institute and things went their way on Friday too. The Warriors blew past the Griffins 35-7. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Griffins are ranked 496th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Salamanca has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points this season. As for Griffith Institute, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Salamanca is set to square off against their familiar foe Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Griffith Institute will take on rival Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
