Softball Recap: Brookfield East Victorious

Brookfield East owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Whitnall Falcons, sneaking past 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since April 8th.

Whitnall's batters probably weren't too happy with Layla Diehl, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up a single walk). Diehl has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brookfield East's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Anna Bracke, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

The win got Brookfield East back to even at 7-7. As for Whitnall, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Brookfield East will challenge Brookfield Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Lancers at the right time seeing as the Lancers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Whitnall, they will square off against Martin Luther at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
