Softball Recap: Hedgesville Eagles vs. East Fairmont Bees

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Berkeley Springs, Hedgesville was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 16-8 margin over the East Fairmont Bees. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hedgesville also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Mayla Ortega, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Caylie Shade, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, a triple, and an RBI.

Hedgesville's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for East Fairmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Hedgesville will be playing at home against North Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
