Volleyball Recap: Valhalla Norsemen vs. Monte Vista Monarchs
After flying high against El Capitan last Thursday, Valhalla came back down to earth. Valhalla took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monte Vista Monarchs on Tuesday. The Norsemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Monarchs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
While Valhalla ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21.
Andrew Ramzi paced Valhalla's offense, picking up eight kills. Ramzi got some help from Gno Casanova and his 32 assists.
Valhalla's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Monte Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
