New Holstein and Valders are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Huskies will face off against the Vikings on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
New Holstein is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kewaunee, sneaking past 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Meyer wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Reese Kraus, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Kraus has posted over her last 12 matches. Riley Danes was another, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Valders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Wrightstown on Tuesday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Valders' victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for New Holstein, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.
