Volleyball Recap: Elba Bluejays vs. Grand Island Lutheran Lightning
Elba extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 11-11. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grand Island Lutheran Lightning. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lightning this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-1 defeat back in September.
Elba's offense was headlined by Addison Wysocki and Jarahlynn Morrow, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Lacey Barg and her 25 assists. Finally, Morrow was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.
As for Grand Island Lutheran, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since September 23rd.
Grand Island Lutheran can attribute much of their success to Aubree Fosket, who had 11 digs. That's the most digs Fosket has posted over her last eight contests.
Elba has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Giltner on the 11th. As for Grand Island Lutheran, they will take on Newman Grove/St. Edward on Tuesday.
