Baseball Recap: Seneca Bobcats vs. Mercyhurst Prep Lakers
Seneca extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-12 in the process. They lost 15-0 to the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 on April 10th.
As for Mercyhurst Prep, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs.
For Mercyhurst Prep's part, Brady Rice looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Rice has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Zack Kruszewski was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jack Stoker was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Coincidentally, Seneca and Mercyhurst Prep will both be playing Union City the next time they take the field. The Lakers will head out to face the Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bobcats will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
