Softball Recap: Incarnate Word Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Incarnate Word Academy had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Klein Forest Eagles on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-6 victory.

Incarnate Word Academy got a massive performance out of Olivia Montemayor, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave Montemayor a new career-high. Faith Puzon was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Incarnate Word Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Incarnate Word Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-10-1. As for Klein Forest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 16 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Incarnate Word Academy will square off against St. Agnes Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Klein Forest, they will challenge Klein Collins at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
