Softball Game Preview: Silas Rams vs. Gig Harbor Tides

The Silas Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Gig Harbor Tides at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Tuesday, Silas got the win against Bellarmine Prep by a conclusive 14-4. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly ten runs.

Kaydence Griffith was a standout: she scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Claire Walsh was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Silas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellarmine Prep only posted an OBP of .423.

Meanwhile, Gig Harbor waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Tigers 7-1. Considering the Tides have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gig Harbor's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Silas, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
