The Klein Cain Hurricanes will venture away from home to square off against the Tomball Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Klein Cain made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Klein Collins, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hurricanes were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Tigers on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hurricanes.

Amia Shead was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and four RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Brielee Weber was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Kameryn Byrd, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
Klein Cain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Klein Collins only posted an OBP of .276.
Meanwhile, Tomball waltzed into their game on Tuesday with 15 straight wins... but they left with 16. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Bulldogs. The game was the first time the Cougars have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since April 8, 2016.
Regina Amaya spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Murillo, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Macey Frank, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Tomball's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Klein Cain, their record is now 9-15.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Klein Cain hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Tomball struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Klein Cain might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Tomball in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Hurricanes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
