There's no place like home for Newaygo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Tri County Area Vikings on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won nine in a row.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 25-13.

Ruby Hughes paced Newaygo's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hughes got some help from Grace Hughes and her 27 assists. Ruby was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Newaygo's win bumped their record up to 21-11. As for Tri County Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. After both having extra time off, Newaygo and Big Rapids will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri County Area, they will face off against Chippewa Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
