Softball Recap: Cooper Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Cooper's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They never let the Campbell Indians get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won six in a row.

Kelci Sonntag made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Halle Toon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Tyciara Finney was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Cooper hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Cooper pushed their record up to 6-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.7 runs over those games. As for Campbell, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Cooper will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
