Basketball Game Preview: Concord Minutemen vs. NorthWood Panthers

Concord hasn't had much luck against NorthWood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Minutemen will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 7:45 p.m. Concord will be strutting in after a win while NorthWood will be coming in after a loss.

Concord is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Tri-Township on Wednesday. The Minutemen snuck past the Tigers with a 31-26 victory.

Concord's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooklyn Ganger led the charge by putting up ten points. Ganger has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Vivian Casey, who posted four points in addition to 11 boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, NorthWood played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Warsaw, falling 84-15. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

NorthWood now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Concord, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-5.

Concord lost to NorthWood on the road by a decisive 40-26 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can the Minutemen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
