Softball Recap: East Webster Triumphs

East Webster's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Houston Hilltoppers. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Hilltoppers on March 6th, they had to take a 6-3 defeat.

Paytan Sanders made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Sanders was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double.

East Webster's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Houston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Webster will welcome Philadelphia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tornadoes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.33 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Houston, they will host Mooreville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
