Basketball Game Preview: Ellinwood Eagles vs. Central Plains Oilers

The Ellinwood Eagles will head out to take on the Central Plains Oilers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Plains took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Ellinwood, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Ellinwood didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Hoisington, but they still walked away with a 54-48 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Central Plains was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 38-32 to St. John.

Ellinwood's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Central Plains, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-4.

Ellinwood came up short against Central Plains when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 40-35. Can Ellinwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
