Basketball Game Preview: Newfane Panthers vs. Albion Purple Eagles

Newfane has gone 9-1 against Albion recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Newfane Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Albion Purple Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Newfane came up short against Niagara-Wheatfield and fell 38-31. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Newfane had strong showings from Camlo Flowers, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 18 points, and Mac Capen, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. Flowers is becoming a predictor of Newfane's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 4-11 when he doesn't).

Meanwhile, Albion lost to Spencerport on the road by a 61-44 margin on Saturday. The Purple Eagles have struggled against the Rangers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Albion's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Newfane, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Newfane came up short against Albion in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 58-48. Can Newfane avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
