Basketball Recap: Liberty Christian Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Liberty Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 57-44 to the Missouri Military Academy Fighting Colonels. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-47 on January 13th.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tommy Meyer, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Meyer is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Willy Mueller was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards.

Liberty Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Missouri Military Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bourbon at 7:00 p.m. on February 17th. As for Missouri Military Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chamois at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Missouri Military Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Chamois likes a good challenge.
