Volleyball Game Preview: Sunset Knights vs. Coral Reef Barracudas

Sunset has gone a perfect 3-0 against Coral Reef recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Barracudas at 6:00 p.m. Sunset is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Sunset didn't have quite enough to beat Ferguson and fell 3-2.

Sunset took Ferguson into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-18, 25-20, 22-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Coral Reef didn't have quite enough to beat Homestead on Thursday and fell 3-2. While the Barracudas didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Broncos 25-21 in the first set.

Coral Reef took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-17, 26-28, 25-18, 15-11.

Sunset's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Coral Reef, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Everything went Sunset's way against Coral Reef when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Sunset made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
