Soccer Game Preview: Spring Valley vs. Nitro

The Spring Valley Timberwolves will face off against the Nitro Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Spring Valley's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Spring Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Point Pleasant, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Spring Valley was ranked 13th). The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw on Wednesday. The only reason Spring Valley dodged a loss was the performance of Filip Jessen, who scored every single goal for the team.

Nitro played against Oak Hill on Saturday and won via forfeit.

The win keeps Nitro at an undefeated 14-0-1. Spring Valley's draw makes their record 9-4-4 this season.

Spring Valley beat Nitro by a goal in their previous matchup back in August of 2021, winning 1-0. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
