Basketball Recap: North Smithfield Gets the Win

There's no place like home for North Smithfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights by the margin of a single free throw, 62-61. The Northmen have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Scarlet Knights, too.

Leading North Smithfield to victory were Connor Reilly and Sam Drolet. Reilly posted 25 points, while Drolet put up 21 points. Drolet's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Ferri, who had ten points.

The win got North Smithfield back to even at 9-9. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

North Smithfield will be playing at home against Providence Country Day at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Providence Country Day will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something North Smithfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, they will head out on the road to challenge Prout at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Prout's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 matchups.
