Baseball Game Preview: J.R. Tucker Tigers vs. Freeman Mavericks

J.R. Tucker hasn't had much luck against Freeman recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. J.R. Tucker has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when J.R. Tucker took on Glen Allen on Tuesday. The Tigers came up short against the Jaguars, falling 16-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Joey Noel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Wood, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Freeman has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They lost 11-1 to Caroline. The match marked the Mavericks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Freeman's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for J.R. Tucker, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

J.R. Tucker couldn't quite finish off Freeman in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
