Basketball Recap: Jensen Hirschkorn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kingsburg over South

Kingsburg and South squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Kingsburg had to settle for second. They fell just short of the South Spartans by a score of 44-41. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jensen Hirschkorn, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Kingsburg is 13-6 when Hirschkorn posts ten or more boards, but 3-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tejbir Purewal, who posted eight points.

Kingsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 16-14. As for South, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Kingsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-46 loss against North on the 21st.
