Basketball Recap: Franklin Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Franklin Academy extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Rayne Bookhart. The Franklin Academy Patriots blew past the Granville Central Panthers 58-30 on Friday thanks in part to Bookhart, who went 12 for 24 on her way to 24 points in addition to five assists and four steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Iliana Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards. Those 15 rebounds gave her a new career-high.

Franklin Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for Granville Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Academy will venture away from home to square off against Henderson Collegiate at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Granville Central, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bunn at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th.
