Softball Recap: Taft School Comes Up Short

Taft School extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They lost 15-0 to the Choate Rosemary Hall School Wild Boars. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Big Red's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Choate Rosemary Hall School, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For Choate Rosemary Hall School's part, Natalia Draghi made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Draghi has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Margot Seiden was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Maggie Swanson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases.

As of now, neither Taft School nor Choate Rosemary Hall School have any future games scheduled.
