Recap: Ford Panthers vs. Rivercrest Rebels
After flying high against the North Hopkins Panthers on Tuesday, the Ford Panthers came back down to earth. Ford took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rivercrest on Thursday. Ford has not had much luck with Rivercrest recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Anna Duvall was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Rivercrest's points. Claire Grider was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 8 rebounds.
Ford now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Rivercrest, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.
Ford will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sunnyvale at 6:15 a.m. Sunnyvale presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ford in Texas (Sunnyvale is ranked 45th, while Ford is ranked 1129th). Rivercrest is on the road again on Thursday and play against Grand Saline at 4:00 p.m. on December 7th. Grand Saline will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
