The Lake Ridge Eagles will challenge the Permian Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lake Ridge comes in on five and Permian on ten.
Lake Ridge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Trinity by a score of 47-38.

DeShawn Edwards continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 165 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 243 yards and two TDs. He has been hot, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played. Jaiden Cotton also helped with two touchdowns in total.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lake Ridge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in 12 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Permian). They breezed past Eastlake to the tune of 59-7 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.
Lake Ridge better focus on containing Kayden Vickers and Gavin Black as the pair were huge in Permian's win. Vickers threw for 383 yards and four TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes, while Black rushed for 86 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. Those 383 passing yards gave Vickers a new career-high.
Permian's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Coffie Powell, Braden Woody, and Luis Zapiain, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Lake Ridge's record now sits at 9-2. As for Permian, their record is now 10-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Lake Ridge has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 259.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Permian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 171.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
