Evansville North and North Posey pushed the score to 11-10 the last time they played North Posey, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. The Huskies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Vikings. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-10 back in April.

Braden Perry looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Evansville North's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Carroll, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Evansville North has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for North Posey, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9.

Evansville North and North Posey should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Huskies will take on Forest Park at 11:00 a.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (27 vs. 132). Meanwhile, North Posey (ranked 56th) will meet Pike Central (ranked 307th) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
