Recap: Sacred Heart Prep Gators vs. Priory Panthers

The Sacred Heart Prep Gators can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Priory as Sacred Heart Prep made off with a 66-40 win. The victory was familiar territory for Sacred Heart Prep who now have ten in a row dating back to last season.

Sacred Heart Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JP Kerrigan led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Hogan, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teddy Xanthopoulos, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Harrison Kim, who scored 11 points.

Sacred Heart Prep's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Priory, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Sacred Heart Prep will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pinewood at 6:30 p.m. Pinewood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 687th, while Sacred Heart Prep is ranked 71st). As for Priory, they will head out on the road to challenge Eastside College Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Priory focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
