Basketball Recap: Mission College Prep Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

It's playoff time, and Mission College Prep had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Frontier Titans by a score of 67-55 on Friday. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Titans are ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Frontier's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zach Garnett, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten boards. That was a full 40% of Frontier's points, marking the third time in a row Garnett has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dallin Crawford, who went 7-for-8 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Mission College Prep is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points over those games. Frontier's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-13.

Coming up, Mission College Prep will take on Central at 8:00 p.m. on February 28th. Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Mission College Prep surely won't give up without a fight. Frontier does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
