Baseball Game Preview: John Glenn Knights vs. Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms

John Glenn hasn't had much luck against Bayport-Blue Point recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Phantoms at 5:15 p.m.

John Glenn is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Pierson.

Meanwhile, Bayport-Blue Point strolled into their game last Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Pierson a 3-0 shutout.

Not much got past Mike Messina, who gave up just two hits to keep Pierson off the board.

At the plate, Tyler McKillop was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Ryan Kloss, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Bayport-Blue Point pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for John Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

John Glenn might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Bayport-Blue Point when the teams last played back in March. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
